BRAEMAR-DEMPSEY CONNECTION

Construction on new
road link starts soon

CONSTRUCTION ON the
Braemar-Dempsey road link is due
to begin within the next two weeks.

The project was recently put out.
to tender, but, to press time, the
contract had not yet been awarded
by North Vancouver District
Council.

Following the completion of the
roadway, scheduled for next spr-
ing, development of the Kilmer

total number of lots from 282 to
276, and zoning changes allowing
larger lots in some ‘areas were
adopted on Sept. 26. (

According to a report issued this
month by district municipal plan-
ner Kai Kreuchen, the public focus
of the Kilmer Creek neighborhood
will be a central park area. The
Streetscape plan for the area in-
cludes underground wiring, or-

namental street lighting, a pathway
system and boulevard trees on
specified streets.

The report also notes that the
underlying philosophy of the
neighborhood plan is to blend the
development into the existing en-
vironment by designing it to com-
plement the sloping topography

and preserve some of the forest _

character. ,
