DESIGNED LOCALLY

FOUR and a half years
ago Diane Fowlie was

making gymnastics
outfits for just her
daughter, today she’s

producing her own line
of active wear, with
many separate custom

orders. One _ recently

completed job was the

gymnastic team
leotard for the Canada
Winter Games.

After she started making
outfits for her daughter she
was soon approached by
gymnasts and their coaches
interested in having her
make custom designed
leotards for them. Word
spread and Diane was soon
fittmmg gymnasts, skaters and

dancers.

She felt the potential was
there for a business and
decided to learn more
business skills, so she
enrolled in Capilano
College's Retail
Management’ course,
graduating from the two year
program in April.

Going to school full ume,
running her business, and
the house has kept her busy.

now she no longer does all
the sewing. Instead she

while she does all the
