With the backing of giant Disney Records, Foote now com- mands audiences of all sizes and ages as far south as Alabama. But now the North Vancouver children’s entertainer is taking time out to give back a little of the good fortune he has reaped. Next Wednesday Foote and a cast of lively focz! stars will treat North Shore residents to a special Christmas Revue. Proceeds from the evening performance will go to the B.C. Cancer Society’s Camp Goodtimes, a summer camp for kids with cancer. Foote has worked hard to bring attention to cancer for the last four years. He’s hoping the show will raise about $12,000. . “Especiatly at Christmas, peo- ple think about .what they don’t have,” says Foote. “But when BAY NCDOINGS you think of some of these kids —. they’re real troopers.” Foote, who is careful to avoid the word ‘‘termina!’’ when speaking of cancer, believes that with the right attitude, the disease can be beaten. “| believe your psyche can cure you and that’s why !| want to make a positive statement with the show.” The Dec. 16 performance, for kids of ail ages and their parents, includes a showcase of Vancouver talent including singers Rick Scott, Shari Ulrich, Dolly Hopkins (Gumboot), Pau! Hann, Andy Thoma, £. Beneezer’s Emporium, Sean Hosein, Elaine Brewer- White, comedian Gordon White, Connie tebeau, and of course, Foote.
