B2 - Wednesday, November 16, 1983 - North Shore News Canadians hold hockey lead THE DRILLERS broke open a close game with four goals in the third period to defeat the Old Crows, 6-2 in North Shore Senior Hockey League action. . Playing a tough checking game, the Drillers were led by Larry Barker and John Mc- Cormack with two goals each. Ray Matheson and Ed Collins added singles. Gary MacDougall in the first and Jim Nichols in the third replied for the Crows. Canadians moved three defencemen up front, and the line of Max Bailey, Dan Romanuik, and Jim Maurer scored four goals in a 9-3 defeat of the Warriors. But the big story was Murray Feist, who moved back to defence in the shuffle, and connected with one goal and set up four others, mainly from booming shots from the point. Jamie Dean, D. Scott, and Larry Braley replied for the Warriors, who were in the game until they took a rash of penalties at the end of the second and beginning of the third period. Then the Cana- dians scored two power play goals with the Warriors two men short to put the game out of reach. The Old Buzzards-Fire- fighters game was postponed because the Buzzards were in a tournament in Vancouver. Few weekend games played FOUL WEATHER prevented all but a few North Shore Youth Soccer games from taking place. Most of the matches that did go on were make-up games from earlier parts of the schedule, though a few teams jumped ahead to Game Eighteen of the schedule.
