In efiect until June 24, 1993:

Leave Horseshoe Bay daily at 7
a.m.,9a.m., 1] am., 1 p.m., 3
p.m.,5p.m., 7 p.m, and 9 p.m.

Leave Nanzimo daily at 7 a.ni.,
9am., ll acm., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., §
p.m.,7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

@ Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
and Langdale to Horseshoe Bay:
In effect until June 24, 1993:

Leave Horseshoe Bay at 7:30
a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., £:15
P.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:25
p.m. end 9:15 p.m. There will
also be extra sailings at If p.m.
on May 24.

Leave Langdale at 6:20 a.m.,
8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2:25 p.m.,

2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

and 8:20 p.m. There will also be

extra sailings at 10:10 p.m. on

Fireworks explosions frighten animals

IN BRITISH Coiumbia settling
fireworks is a tradition that goes
hand in hand with Halloween,
but the Vancouver Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (SPCA) advises that
fireworks don't go well with
your pets.

“Most animals are scared by

sudden foud noises or bright
flashes of light,"’ says Michaei
Weeks, the SPCA’s cxecutive
director. ‘‘Dugs especially react
sensitively to noisemakers like
fireworks and every year pets
cun away to find a place to hide.
The problem is, some of them
don’t — of can't — come
back."”

This Ualloween —- or of
other days when fireworks are
part of the festivities — it is a
good idea to keep your pet in-
side. If you attend a fireworks
display, leave your dog at home.
“You will be doing a favor for
both of you,’’ say SPCA of-
