The warrant named Possee’s sister, Kelly Posse, as a suspected drug dealer. In the search warrant applica- tion made hours before the drug raid and shooting at 4 basement suite located at 129 East 26th St., West Vancouver drug section member Const a Pollitt notes that an informant nad been in the suite within the preceeding 12 hours. “Once inside, the source observed a quantity of marijuana and a set of scales typical of the kind used to traffic in a narcot- ic,’* Pollitt wrote. Poilitt also based his request for a search warrant on information received from a second ‘‘infor- mant’’, a member of the West Vancouver Police drug section. But when the police entered th suite just after 11 p.m. they saw Daniel Possee holding a pellet ri- fle. A 15-year veteran West Van- couver Police officer shot Possce once in the chest, killing him. Two others in the suite at the lime did not witness the shooting. A fourth person, a friend of Kelly and Daniel Possee’s, was with Daniel Posscc. Police recovered 15 grams of marijuana and a set of scales in the drug raid. Meanwhile, Kelly Possec, the subject of the search, no longer lived in the suite at the time of the raid, She had been living and work- ing as a nanny at the home of North Vancouver City Ald.
