Davis Gurlay Spencer and Slade is the result of an amalgamation of three law firms. The new firm will employ six lawyers who deal primarily in litigation and real estate corporate law. The three law firms who joined together to form the new practice are George Davis and Company, Gurlay and Spencer, which was operated by Rob Gurlay and Peter Spencer, and Slade and Company, operated by Janet Slade. Slade said all three law firms specialize in different types of law. ““George Davis does work with banking litigation and Rob Gurlay and Peter Spencer have done civil and commercial litigation and myself and Shelley Williams, my associate, have generally had real estate corporate practices,’’ said Slade. She added that the three law firms had been thinking about amalgamating and moving to West Vancouver for some time and added that West Vancouver, needs a law firm like Davis Gurlay Spencer and Slade. “We're doing it so we can serve our clients better as a group,”’ said Slade. ‘‘I do soliciting work and the others do litigation. We're all senior lawyers and we felt West Vancouver needed a senior law firm. There really isn’t one around here.’’ Davis Gurlay Spencer and Slade will be located at Ste. 205-1455 Bellevue Ave., West Vancouver.
