Pat the cat is, afterall, closing in
on 14 years of age; Pat’s the res-
taurant is about the same.

Based on cat and restaurant
years, both might be considered to

entering their dotage.

But while Pai the cat may have
seen the last of her mousing days,
Pat's the restaurant is really start-
ing to hit its stride.

Owner Everette Miller
overhauled Pat's Spirited Dining
two years ago, carving an attrac-
tive, modern restaurant from what
had been a lively but dingy one.

with skylighting, larger windows
and a clean elegant interior.

It also gave the usually anany-
mous kitchen staff a starring role
by moving the kitchen centre-
stage in full view of diners.

With the wrong staff, that move
could have provided Pat’s patrons
with a study in high kitchen drama
rather than haute dining cuisine.
