_ Dear Editor:
This week for the first time in
my life I put out no garbage at all.
Cur household is now pretty
well fully recycling. Let me tell you
how we are doing this.

First, we do have a compost
pile. Then, we are separating out
in receptacles for collection: ordi-
nary paper (letters, etc), plastics,
tins, glass and cardboard. News-
Papers we are having collected
locally.

I anticipate we shall have to put
a few things in the garbage collec-
tion from time to time, items such
as toothpaste containers. But this
week, we had nothing. And it felt
good.

Where are we taking these
items? A fair distance, as it hap-
pens, but the two depositories we
are using are on routes that I have

When will it be possible for
North Shore residents to recycle all

municipalities? 1 know there are

know plans are being made for

curbside recycling, but other
municipalities are not taking so
long.

I believe citizens want to do their
bit to protect and restore our en-
vironment, and recycling is one
way to be involved in this process.
Let’s keep on asking for as com-
plete a service as our citizens will
support.
