I whole-heartedly agree with the
editorial in your June 8 edition
about the time having come for
more representation on the North
Shore.

Angus Ree’s comment against
the Fisher recommendation is of
little merit. Yes, North Vancouver
Capilano has had a small fish in a
large pond, and for too Jong.

Mr. Ree realizes in his riding
that 75 per cenl of the New Demo-
craft vote is derived from the bot-
tom, half of that riding. Which is,
by the way, the heart of the pro-
posed riding.

H there was some competition
on the block, Mr. Ree might be
embarrassed into making good on
a highway project rather than us-
ing this premise to engineer his
elections.

Mr. Ree is not alone in his par-
tisan view of democracy. The other
members on the North Shore op-
pose the idea of a New Democrat
MLA sharing the real estate. In the
end, Mr. Ree will probably devote
more time and energy in opposing
