I also wish the new trustees well in their efforts to guide our school system. Even though | cannot join them on the board, [ still hope to con- tribute my ideas to the planning and management process of the school district. David Janis North Vancouver ews reporter ‘enterprising Dear Editor: A little bit of praise to whoever writes up your Home and Garden section. I do public relations for the Pt. Grey Chrysanthemum Society and include your paper with my releases announcing our shows. I hope to be included in the What’s Going On area. But I append a note pointing out that we are a Lower Mainland club, extending to Langley, White Rock and the North Shore. Recently I added that one of our top growers is a Gordon Kittson living at 10th and Grand Boule- vard, Well, your writer went beyond what I hoped for. He phoned uv Gordon, evidently, and said, ‘‘I hear you are a big exhibitor in the November show.” ‘‘Oh no,"’ said Gordon, ‘‘I am an early grower.’’ Your reporter might have said, “Oh dear, I’ve been misinformed. Sorry to have bothered you.”’ But he didn’t. He went on to develop a story about Gordon and mums. Now that’s enterprising. It’s the obverse of the fabled young reporter sent out to cover a wedding. He returned empty- handed. ‘‘How come?" said his miffed editor. ‘‘Oh,’’ he said, *‘the bridegroom didn't turn up.”’ Please pass on my thanks. Alan Croll West Vancouver DRAPERIES BY S.
