Run by seniors, the society’s aim is the establishment of a social support system linking all types of formal and informal services, resources and information to senior citizens in the community, Seniors can give and receive emotional support, material aid, service information and social con- tact. Through a= survey of local seniors’ needs as well as the available resources in the region, the network society aims to link need with resources, eliminate duplication of services and en- courage developnient of new ser- vices as required. The seniors’ network on the North Shore is now well establish- ed with the objective of enriching the lives of the elderly in the com- munity, providing enjoyable pastimes and opportunities for socializing, exchanging ideas, and providing information on all mat- ters relevant to the age group. Seniors are encovraged to join this service of ‘‘seniors cheerfully assisting others’’.
