include three’ events that will
decide Canada's National Cham-
pion. -

The’ week will: also include the
Celebrity’ Canoe ‘Race. All pro-
ceeds from the race will go to the
Man-In-Motion Tour: for spinal
research. : ° .-

On. Sun., July 27 .at- Alta Lake,
celebrities from radio,. television,

music and sports will be invited to

participate in a fun canoe race.
: The'two-person teams will con-

sist ‘ofa celebrity and National:

Whitewater team member.

August 10 will see the return of
the Molson Fun-Fitness Swim.

The annual event is open to
anyone 18 years and, older who
wants to come out and swim a mile
in Lost Lake.

On August 16 and 17, the Ca-
nadian National Marathon Canoe
Races will be held on the beautiful
laices_ of . Whistler Valley. Com-
petitors will race through Alpha,
Nita and Alta Lake with running
portages in between.

The course will travel over 16
miles and will take approximately
two hours to complete.

The Pre-Nationals will take
place on basically the same course
on June 6 and 7.

. About -100 competitors are ¢x-
pected for this first time event.
