tempted murder, along with
eight other counts resulting
from a shooting incident in
North Vancouver December
27, will be back in North
Vancouver provincial court
April 3 and 4.

According to North Van-

couver Crown Counsel, the
defence for John Arnold
Gordon did not specify in
court Wednesday whether
they would seek a_prelimi-
nary hearing or a trial on the
assigned April court dates.
The Crown said since Ar-
nold has been charged with
an indictable offence, the
defence has until the actual
court date to elect one of the
two procedures. :

In addition to the attemp-
ted murder charge, Arnold
also faces charges of one
count of assault with a
knife, two counts of poin-
ting a firearm at another
person, one count of using a
firearm in a careless manner,
one count of using a firearm
for a purpose dangerous to
the public peace, one count
of discharging a firearm with
intent to endanger life, one
count of assault with a-
weapon and one count of
possession: of a prohibited
