High school student | Expressions journal now in book stores Writers voice their deepest feelings In today’s complex and chailenging society, it is often dif- ficult for teens to express their feelings in a positive way. A new. book has been released that allows them to do just that. High School students from throughout the province were given the opportunity to put pen to paper and voice their emotions and opinions about issues — without being interrupted. Tliere -were no limitations on what was written, and the only criterion was that the writers had to express their strongest, most heartfelt feelings. . Last September posters and en- try forms were sent to B.C. sec- ondary schools publicizing the project and inviting teens to: par- ticipate. The deadline for entries _ was Feb. 1,: and ail the material collected was at the printers by March. Then the process started again for next year. How much is the ski- pass worth? Is it a deal for the kids or is it cheap labor for Cypress? 'I get the feeling that Cypress is getting a good name for free labor. ET haven’t done any volun- teer work myself but { do think it's a good idea because it gets the kids involved and you do get beneficial things. > B <<
