The tournament features 72 of the top men and 50 of the top women prospects in Western Canada. The women’s: camp (July 21-23) and the men’s camp (July 24-26) will take place from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. at the Pinetree Community Center in Coquitlam, B.C. The North Vancouver mountain-bike racer returned to the scene of her Olympic silver-medal ride leading the women’s World Cup points north shore news @ championship, and despite two flat tires, a crash and a jammed chain, managed to retain that lead following the 38.6 kilometre race. The 31-year-old Sydor fin- ished second, just nwo min- utes and 16 seconds behind winner Laurence Leboucher, of France. Leboucher is sec- ond in World Cup standings. The final race of the World Cup season takes place in cary September in Bromont, Quebec and it just happens to be Sydor’s favorite course. The talented Sydor is in Abbotsford today competing in the national road racing championships. HOCKEY... A select tyke team of North Shore Winter Club and North Shore Minor Hockey Association players went undefeated en route to winning the Pacific Viper Hockey Tournament at the Grand Pacific Forum. The North Shore squad downed the Fraser Valley Super Series team 7-4 in the tournament final. Team members include: Derck Lee, Sean Lee, Clark MacDonald, Trevor Milner, Jamie Nordio, Kevin Parkyn, Brad Reid, Patrick Rogan, Tayior Stefishen, Colton Teubert, and Brandon Thompson.
