Hendren helped to develop
the software approximately 10
years ago when he was in
charge of software development
at Vancouver-based Synex
Systems Corporation.

“We were well-known in the

He stayed there for two
years and then moved on to
offer management consulting
services as Hendren &
Associates. Since then he has

Columbia, Baxter has been

He initially introduced the
F9 software program at his loca!

Baptist Church. “I thought, gee
this actuaily works well. I real-
ized there weren’t many people
in the local area who had the
expertise in doing this kind of
financial reporting. I started
doing that and realized there
were other people who needed
this service,” he said.

Hendren took on more
complex jobs, He’s keeping
tack of a shipping company’s
trust funds, for example.

“Shipping companies,
although they tend to be small,

and. sits on the board of.
Tourism Vancouver. His most
recent posting was with
Baxter Aviation where he
learned the ropes of float
plane operations.

to be tracked. There’s all sorts
of complexities i in dealing with

Hendren has a close rela-
tionship with Synex. “They help’
with various aspects of market-
ing and rechnical help. They
still own the product and I’m
using it as a resource for the
clients.”

Heenjoys the flexibility of
working from home. “With the
Internet it is as if 1 am in peo-
ple’s offices.”
