Adjudicating the festival, the biggest ever held in B.C., will be Jackie Maxwell, ar- tistic director of the Factory Theatre in Toronto. Followirig each evening of theatre at the festival, au- dience members, cast, crew, staff and volunteers are in- vited to enjoy good com- pany, good food and a telaxing atmosphere to share friendships and ideas, and unwind after the excitement of the day at the ‘green Photo Jack Dietrich THE FESTIVAL'S best production of 1983 featured John Gilliland and Lina de Guevava. Two plays BESIDES THE 10 plays in competition, twa plays have been selected to be workshopped during the Mainstage festival. Each of these two plays will give an initial perfor- mance, which is then re- worked for a day by a pro- fessional director. The play is then perform- ed again in its revised form in a fascinating and educa- tional before and after pro- cess.
