Deaths

CARLSON - Dorothy Irene, peacefully at
home on January 27, 1992 in her 731d
year. Predeceased by her husband Gus,
daughter Marilyn and son Alan. She is
Ievingly remembered by her daughter
Judy, also several grandchifdren and
great-grandchildren. No service by re-
quest. Cremation.

A special thank you to the staff of
Hospice Victoria for their kindness and
support.

Society of B.C. and First Memorial Ser-
vices.

COLLEY - Edward J. (fed) died January
22, 1992, aged 39 years, after a coura-
feous battle with melanoma cancer.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Mona
Hartwig; his pasents, Bill and Joyce;
brother Bill, his wife Joanne and family;
sister Pat. husband Dave; and many cel-
atives and friends. A special thank you
to the kind and caring nurses at P.C.U.
Lions Gate Hospital. No service at his
request. A wake will be held at Sailor
Hagar's Pub on Sunday afternoon, Feb-
tuary 2, 1992, 1-6pm. (No brown socks)
to be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations
to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mc¥VICAR - nee Moffatt Maithol (Bunny)
passed away peacefutly at Lions Gate
Hospital, North Vancouver on January
30, 1992. Born in 1905 in Belmont MB,
Mrs McVicar has been a cesident of
North Vancouver for the past 22 years.
Bunny was active in the North Van-
couver Memorial Community Centre
Senior Citizens. Mrs McVicar is survived
by her loving family; husband John,
sister Eleanor Wells, daughter Maye,
(Jim) Moffatt. daughter Shirley (Donald)
Smith, son Robert (Muriel} McVicar, 5
grandchildren, Robb, Denyse and Donald
Moffatt, Lorraine (Smith) Whitehead and
Gary Smith and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs McVicar graduated from St Boniface
Hospital Nursing School MB in 1927.
She continued her nursing career in
Steinbach, MB, Winnipeg General Hos-
pital, Melfort SK and retired from Van-
couver General Hospital in 1970. A
memorial service will be held Saturday,
February 1, 12 noon at Boal Chapel.

Flowers gratefully declined in favour of a

OATWAY - Wallace Reginald passed
away peacefully January 28, 1992. Born
in Creston, 6.C. fanuary 9, 1917.
Predeceased by his first wife Evelyne in
1981. Sadly missed by son Steve of
Point Grey; daughters, Janie Coughtin
(Barry) and granddaughter Shelley of
Sardis, and Wendy Soares (Joe) of
Pender Island; sister Muriel Knight of
Victoria; wife Isene and her children,
Margaret-Anne (Ray), Bob (Nancy).

thew. Memorial service at First United
Church, $5385 Semiahmoo, White Rock
on Saturday, February 1 at 12:30pm.

ROPER - Henry Ernest (Hank), aged 57,
died suddenly on January 27, 1992 in
North Vancouver. Survived by his loving
family, wife Marianne; sons, Steven
(Cheryl), Geraid (Penriy), Russell (Lestey);
daughter Colleen (Craig Simmiss); 6
grandchildren, Jessica and tauren
Simmiss, Sarah, Thomas, Jordan and
Ketci Roper; his father Charles Roper of
Regina, Sask; 3 sisters, Doreen Palmer
of North Vancouver, Florence Luhtala of
Tantalton, Sask and Delores Christian of
Moosamin, Sask; sisters-in-law, Evelyn
Beckett and Sharon Fairbrother; and
brother-in-law Duke Fairbrother. Hank
was President of North Shore Plumbing
& Heating & Electric and will be greatly
missed by friends and family. Funerat
service was held Friday, January 31 at
11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine's Anglican
Church, 1058 Ridgewood Drive, North
Vancouver, with Father John Bailey of-
ficiating. Interment to follow in North
