location. Don't count on it in an
emergency! Be able to find the
stairs using the braille system if
you must — count the doors be-
tween your room and the stairs.

key works in the lock. Many have
tried to escape a fire only to find
themselves trapped in the stairwell.
That, too, could be hazardous to
your health.
