REGULAR SEASON action in high -school basketball finished last week. Now it’s on to the playoffs. In the final week of the regular season in the senior girls divi- sion there was plenty of action. The key fight was for the fourth and final North Shore playoff spot. Before the week’s action started Hillside was fourth with a 9-6 record, West Vancouver was fifth at 8-7. On Monday, lost, West Van won, and sud- denly the two teams were tied with two games to ga. Both teams won their first game and that set-up a showdown as the ‘final game for both teams was against each other. OVERTIME In the big game it was Hillside edging West. Van 53-49-'in overtime. Simonne Gould scored 19 points for Hillside, Ann Diggon had 15 for West Van. With the cliff- hanger win Hillside took 4th place in the final North Shore Senior Girls standings. Windsor finished in Ist place, Carson Graham was 2nd, and Sentinel was 3rd. The final results also mean Carson Graham and Hillside advance to the B.C. Double-A Championships. Handsworth, who finished in 6th place, advance to the B.C. Double-A preliminaries with a chance of winning its way through to the Crehan Cup tournament proper. JOE AMEY -. Hillside.
