Join the ‘survival of the fittest’

Here’s ‘your chance to
prove it. -

The first Molson Van-
couver Triathlon will be
staged Sunday, Aug. 8, and
it will truly be a survival of
the fittest.

The overall winner will
have swum one mile, cycled
20 miles and run 10 miles
faster than everyone else.

Organized by the Alta
Lake Sports Club, the event

will begin at 8 a.m. with the
swim at Spanish Banks, half
a mile out, half a mile back.
The cycling portion will
run from Spanish Banks to
UBC and consist of two

loops around a campus
course.
From there, the con-

testants will run from UBC
to the Vancouver Rowing
Club in Stanley Park, a total
of 31 miles in all.

The event will be broken
down into six divisions: open
