the Royal Architectural
Institute annual convention.

For the Whistler Town
Centre concept, the ar-
chitects, working in
cooperation’ with Urbanics
Consultants Ltd., designed a
resort community which
would provide year-round
sports activities in an
essentially west coast
character. In the view of the

objectives.

thought has been given to

lighting fixtures to mail
boxes and garbage con-
tainers.

The awards were the tenth
in an annual program of
national awards established
by The Canadian Architect
for projects specifically in
the conceptual design stage.

Other members of the
judges’ panel were Robert
Anderson, Chief Architect,
Central Mortgage and
Housing Corporation and
architect Trevor Garwood-
Jones.
