Environment investipa- tion initiated after 36,060 gallons (163.440 litres) of septic tank sludge was introduced into a landfill area whieh did not permit this (ype of waste. The incident occurred pear Britannia Beach on March 16, 1993, The maximum penalty under the Waste Management Actis $f million for each charge. The first court appear- ance is scheduled for April 12 in Squamish Provincial Court. Baby seized A THREE-MONTH-OLD baby was seized by police on Feb. 26 after the mother’s drunk boyfriend catled police saying he was too inebriated to take care of the infant. The child was cold, dirty and suffering from pneunio- nia, according to a North Vancouver RCMP spokesman, The baby was taken to Lions Gate Hospital for treat- ment. The child had been left in its aunt's care for 1% days in the 300-block of St. Georges Avenue in North Vancouver. The aunt called the boyfriend to take care of the child. No names were disclosed. Provincial government officials are investigating. Computers collected EIGHTEEN STOLEN computers were recovered after North Vancouver RCMP searched a Lynn Valley residence on March 4. Most of the property, valued at $40,000, belonged to North Vancouver District, according to a North Vancouver RCMP spokesman.
