Police arrest youth after chase

A YOUTH has been charged with
theft-related offences after the
North Vancouver RCMP arrested
one person in connection with a
stolen vehicle.

A police spokesman said that at
about 1:07 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 14, two special project unit
constables on routine patrol in
Lynn Valley recognized a teen,
well known to them, driving a
vehicle.

Chris Laing distributed flyers
stating that marijuana prohibition
should end now,

The flyer suggests students
should walk out of chiss and
“bring friends, drums, joints, and
have 2 good time.”

To press time ‘Thursday, the
News was unable to contact Laing
at his high school,

WYSS vice-principal Bill
Mekitrick said the incident had
nothing to do with the school and
that it was not possible to leave a
message for Lalng.

“The school has no conment,’”
suid McKitrick.

Meanwhile, administrators at
Carson Graham secondary school
in North Vancouver are fuming
over a published newspaper report
that tinked the school with the
hemp-legalization rally.

Vice-principal Len Slade said
three strangers came onto school
property on Tuesday morning and
distributed Nyers without permis-
sion,

“We had our RCMP liaison of-
ficer talk to them.,.. They were
said Slade,

Slade emphasized that the
teenagers. were not Carson
Graham students, although a
photograph published in a Van-
couver daily newspaper eppears to
