The North Shore has six gardening clubs to. choose from that include the following: Lynn Valley Garden Club traces its roots back to pioneer days on the North Shore. Interest in the club waned in the mid ’70s, but in 1989 the club started up again. ' Sixty-five members curzently meet every third Thursday at Lynn Valley United Church except in July and August. The March meeting topic will be “‘pests in the garden.”’ The non-profit garden club buys gifts for the community with year-end funds. The 1992 gift is a seating bench for Lynn., Valley District library. Community gifts from past years include a sun dial for Park and Tilford Gardens, books for Capilano ‘College’s .horticulture department and = small _ Ships. ; Lynn Valley Garden Club gets most of its funds from an annual plant sale.
