THE SEARCH is on once again
for candidates for the 1987 Miss
North Shore pageant to be held
Monday, July 27, at the Centenni-
al Theatre, 23rd and Lonsdale,
North Vancouver.

The pageant provides young
girls with an ideal format to im-
prove or enhance their com-
munication sxills. Gertie Todd, in
her 36th year as founder and
president of the Miss North Shore
Pageant and Association, invites
girls between the ages of 16%
(must have received their 17th bir-
thday by August 1987) and 21
years of age to participate in the
Miss North Shore Pageant,

They must also have been a res-
ident of the North Shore for six
months or over. The winner will
compete in the Miss P.N.E. Pag-
eant to be heid in August.

The winner will also receive
many cther valuable gifts.

Candidates must also live in the
genesal area in which the pageant
is held.

Candidates cannot bave run for
Miss P.N.E. and must be willing to
be a good-will ambassador for one
year. Functions to be held include
fashion shows, fund raisers and
car washes. Event locations include
Capilano Mall, Lynn Valley Cen-
tre, Lonsdale Quay, the Chevron
at 23rd and Lonsdale, Grouse
Mountain and Save-On-Foods.

The crowning ceremony will be
held at the Centennia! Theatre, 123
East 23rd St., North Vancouver,
Mon., July 27 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets
— $5.00 adults, $2.50 seniors and
children under 12.
