Already merchants are planning their holiday festivities. At Capilano Mall, Santa Claus will be arriving in a very special way Nov. 17. Shoppers can only guess at the excitement — mall of- ficials are keeping quiet, saying it is a big surprise. And on Dec. 4, the mall will be featuring a special senior citizens’ day. Here, seniors can expect to find # host of special promotions that are just what they want. Other malls will also be having special seniors’ events. Midnight Madness returns to the mail with all the usual madness. So far, the dates for these night-long special promotions have yet to be announced. ‘‘They will have all the hysteria,’ says mall general man- ager Phil McArthur. A $10,000 Cap Mall spending spree is up for grabs right now. To enter, shoppers must make a dona- tion to the CKNW Orphan's Fund. The draw for the mall-wide shopp- ing trip is scheduled for Dec. 24. In West Vancouver, Park Royal Mall wiil herald Santa’s arrival Nov. 22 with a special parade featuring the elves and the mall’s teddy bear family. Park Royal's bear trio will be on hand every weekend to entertain the shoppers. The parade arrives at the south mall at 11 a.m, In the north mall, Santa’s . parade arrives slightly later, at 1 p.m. Also at the Nov. 22 Park Royal parade there will be a host of youth bands. And in December, the mali will feature Christmas carols sung by a collection of local high school choirs. On Nov. 17, Park Royal will make life easier for early shoppers.
