In a letter to parks board chairman Allen Bennett, chamber president Craig Clark said widening of the causeway could be com- pleted in time for Expo. But the parks board’s response has been less than enthusiastic. NO CHANCE “} would think there is no chance whatsoever of this type of project being com- pleted in time for Expo,” said parks board manager Victor Kendroski. ALD. CRAIG CLARK The chamber’s proposal, the latest of many, has been forwarded to Vancouver's engineering department, but Kendroski does not think it wiil be considered by the board until at least Febru- ary. Clark said safety was the foremost reason for his making the proposal. And he added that Highways Minister Alex Fraser has said: ‘‘The widen- ing of the Stanley Park causeway appears to be the most productive mechanism to improve the flow of traf- fic.""
