WEST VANCOUVER water
lovers will have even more
wet stuff to frolic in starting
this spring.

Council ‘gave the: green
light Monday te begin
renovations on the Aquatic
Centre, | :

Improvements will include
the addition of a whirlpool
and sauna and offices will be
moved to permit a viewing
area of the pool.

“It should be lots of
fun,” says Ald. Diana Hut-
chinson who uses the facili-
ties herself. “I'm very pleas-
ed the cost will be self-li:
quidating within five years.”*

The pricetag on the
renovations is $318,000.

Director of West Van
Parks and Recreation, Frank
Kurucz, says the Price is
worth it. With over 500
People using the facilities

daily and over 900 a day on
holidays, he believes West
Vancouverites will ap-
preciate the extra facilities.
“I’m very excited. about
the renovations,'’ he = said.
“We've been working on
this for a number of years.""
Kurucz hopes construction
will begin before Christmas
and says people will be able
to steam and whirl-away
beginning in May. .
