Brockton Point battled first and were in deep trouble after the loss of their eighth wicket but rallied nicely to score 105 all out. H. Grif- fiths, R. Herbert, A. Sharma and P. Cantelo bowled well for NSCC. North Shore fielded well, J. Mitchell tak- ing three fine catches and D. Cooke taking two catches behind the wicket. The former Irish runner cap- tured the Portland Mara- thon last weekend with a timed of 2:47:19 for her best ever time. Last year Bernadette won the Vic- torta event in 2:52 and just two weeks ago she was third in the 10 k women's seawall event. Bernadette works at the North Van Rec Centre. Mr. Stan Cantelo is the father of NSCC player Peter Cantele. He visited the North Shore in 1982 and fell in love with the camaraderie and talent which he saw in the Blub.
