Student art showing From June 16 to June 30, Presentation House Gallery, 209 West 4th Street, North Vancouver, will be exhibiting two shows: Student Art from Hand- sworth Secondary School in North Vancouver, and Unity Bainbridge: A Celebration of the Oriental Poppy. The display of student work. from Handsworth Secondary School will in- clude a variety of mediums: painting, drawing, print- making, and ceramics. Unity Bainbridge is a native of British Columbia. She graduated from the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr College of Art) in 1936 and con- tinued her studies in Eastern Canada and the United States. Bainbridge’'s primary interest is portraiture, and she is well known for her studies of native Indian life. This exhibition will mark a departure for the artist, the subject matter being limited to drawings, water colours and oil paintings of the Oriental Poppy.
