However, when Esvter falls even just a little bit earlier the Souther: Straits can be both tumultuous and inclement. This year’s race con- formed to that pattern remarkably well, as racers toughed it out in all sorts of conditions, including 2 strong gale that forced many a well- sailed boat out of the race, and, for those who got that far, an aganiz- ingly large patch of almost zero wind, night in front of the finish line.
