The credit union declared a div- idend Feb. | of 10% — a rate that beats GICs, Canada Savings Bonds and B.C. Savings Bonds. “The dividend is a substantial increase over those in previous years,” said credit union president and chief executive officer Jane Milner. “In the past few years, the divi- dends have matched GIC rates. This "has been an extraordinarily good year and, as a result, North Shore has set aside over $1 million for its 1995 dividend,” she added. North Shore Credit Union man- agement expects to post an after-tax profit of $3.7 million. “We had a low delinquency rate, kept interest rates stable during the Quebec referendum debate and controlled our expenses,” said : Milner. Credit union members own at least 25 shares as a condition of membership. The dividend is payable to those who were mem- ’ bers as of Dec. 31, 1995. Milner is leading an 18-month reorganization of North Shore Credit Union. Her goal is to double the credit union's growth rate this ‘;year and to reposition it in an . increasingly competitive market- place, said a credit union press * Telease.
