Business people must be constantly vigilant when dealing with incom- ing invoices and material. Some prevalent examples that business people should be aware of are: i The false invoice Some companies send out invoices to other businesses for ser- vices that were never rendered. Usually the invoices will be for advertising services in a publication of some sort or another. Ensure that invoices are read care- fully — they may not be what they seem. &@ Unwanted toner deliveries If a company has a photocopier, its owners may be victims of a sup- plier sending toner for a machine and then subsequently sending a bill. This is unsolicited material that a business does not likely need. if shipment is accepted, a business may be committed to paying for this product. In many cases, tener is supplied as part of a photocopier agreement. A business may fiad itself over- ioaded with unsolicited material.
