Thousands of people set up
their lawn chairs, or relaxed on
the grass for a smashing end to
our birthday weekend. With the
weather finally co-operating,
Peter McCoppin and the
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra
dazzied the crowd with an excit-
ing repertoire, concluding, aptly,
with “Land of Hope and Glory”.
Cates Park was delightfully dec-
orated for the occasion ... with
a Pioneer Village for refresh-
ments, and strolling musicians
to set the mood. The concert
was sponsored by the three
North Shore municipalities,
the VS0 and North Shore com-
panies ... a big thank you.
