New standards

for safer stoves

tion Standard C22,2 No. 61
Household Cooking Ranges
will ‘lower maximum: surface
temperatures on the front
and side panels-of all electric
ranges.

This is important news to
consumers concerned with
safety.

‘The new requirements were
published in January 1985
and’ become effective for all
ranges. manufactured . from
July 1, 1986; ‘The electric
range standard is one of more

than 200 CSA safety stan- ,

dards that form Part II of the
‘Canadian Electrical Code,
mandated by each province
and territory.. ~
