In some cases to new lows for the year. There have been several factors extraneous to corpo- rate operations contributing to the weakening of all stock prices. 1) The stock market, as represented by the TSE 300 Composite Index, declined 6% in the last few weeks from its 1983 high of 2538.67. Criteria for selecting quality situations are: a proven record of strategy develop- ment and implementation; conservative accounting policies regarding R&D ex- penditures and leverage; con- tinuing high levels of invest- ment in technological research and development; and strong sales and earnings growth trends.
