The invasion of the Fatkfand Islands by
Argentina has taken the world by surprise.
Right now two-thirds of the British navy is
steaming towards the islands to re-capture
them. Argentina says it will not back down.

The road to Horseshoe Bay

led to Lions Gate Hospital

Bus ride started violence

THE ROAD. to Horseshoe
Bay was fraught with anger
and aggression for two
passengers aboard a West
Vancouver Blue Bus
Saturday afternoon and
ended with ambulance tnps
for both of them to Lions
Gate Hospital.

The ride on the Blue Bus
from Vancouver started to
become eventful’ for
passengers when one man
became upset about foul

language being used by
another.
A scuffle broke out

between the two but was
broken up by the bus driver
and several of the
passengers.

When the bus reached
Horseshoe Bay there was a
commotion as_ several
passengers got off at Royal
Avenue and Bay Street and
one of the men who had
been scuffling stumbled into
the other as he left the bus.

At that point, according to
police, the man whose foul
language had started the
earlier ruckus swung a stack
of wooden poles he Was
carrying, striking the other
man on the back of the head.

The fight continued until
the police arrived, by which
time the man being hit with
the poles had a four-inch
gash on the back of his head.

He was taken to Lions
Gate Hospital by ambulance
and was discharged after
receiving 11 stitches for his
wound.

The other man in the

brawl was also taken to
Lions Gate, suffering from a
broken nose, and when he
was discharged, police of-
ficers took him back to West
Vancouver. When they
reached the police station
they charged him with
assault and lodged him in the
cells.
Charged with assault
causing bodily harm is 34-
year-old William Davidson,
of 686 West Eighth Avenue,
in Vancouver.
