Trade deficit worse

TORONTO (UPC) -
Canada's auto trade deficit
with the United States was
$2.1 billion over the first 10
months of 1981, $132.1
million higher than the same
period last year, the
Automotive Parts
Manufacturers’ Associaton
of Canada said Wednesday.
Total imports increased
19.7 per cent to $11.6 billion
and total exports increased
23.1 per cent to $9.4 billion.
Canada posted ai $3.9
billion deficit in auto parts
alone in the 12 month period
ending Oct. 31 with imports
increasing $1.3' billion to
$7.1 billion and exports
going up.only $726.5 million
to $3.2 billion.
