Zen japanese restaurant rose from the ashes of the former Ferguson's Moving and Storage building last September and has been filling the neighborhood with good quality Japanese cuisine ever since, About a half block to the east, Cilantro’s, a new dining venue specializing in contemporary cuisine, intimate desserts and a cafe-noii jazz atmosphere, opened its doors in the old West Van- couver Seafood and Grill locale in early March. And of course there is Saki’s. Simon Dimakis initially opened his small Mediterranean restaurant in early 1991, opting for a sub- dued atmosphere, white-shirt- and-black-tie service and refined Greek and other Mediterranean * cuisine.
