Jeff Switly thinks there is a market out there for men’s underwear and it is for that reason that he has just opened up Underwares in the Park Royal south mall; a specialty store that sells nothing but men’s underwear. Switly opened his daors last week and says the res;onse has been ‘‘tremendous. ”* “IT sell glow in the dark underwear, silk underwear, ali types and all prints of underwear,’”’ says Switly. ‘‘I sell briefs, boxers and g-strings.”’ He also sells a type of men’s underwear known as ‘cycling shorts. ”’ One of his biggest sellers has been a boxer short with a $50 bill printed on the outside. **We'’ve been thinking about doing this for two years. We have an affiliate store in Calgary but there has not been anything like this out here,’’? says Switly. **We’ve been getting a great response."’ Dracula opens NORTH VANCOUVER Com- munity Players are prolonging the spirit of Halloween with a pro- duction of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Written for the stage by Hamilton Deane and John Balderston, the story follows closely Stoker’s 97-year-old prisly tale of death, blood and love. Opening night is this Friday at Hendry Hall. WOMEN IN TRANSI- TION WITH THE support of VanCity, the Vancouver Society on Im- migrant Women will hold its first annual Women in Transition din- ner on Nov. 7. The society is dedicated to iden- tifying and meeting the needs of immigrant and visible minority women in the Greater Vancouver area. Tickets for the 1991 Women in Transition dinner costs $35 per person and all proceeds from the event will go toward the establishment of a resource centre for immigrant women, The dinner will take place at the Kirin Mandarin Restaurant in Vancouver.
