VANDALISM is going to be “locked out’’ of the Cedarbrooke apartment complex at Westview Drive and 28th Street, residents hope. But elementary schoolchildren, which residents at the complex have blamed for causing the vandalism, will still be allowed access through the development, going to and from Larson Elementary School. A fence across a lane i the development rom \We$t 28th Street has roved by North Vancouver City council, but a stipulation was made that the fence contain a gate which will open between SAer 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. every day. Residents of the development had previously erected a fence across the public lane, but the City insisted it had to have formal approval. A survey carried out by the City engineering department showed that 36 out of 37 townhouse residents wished the lane closed, while seven out of eight residents on the north side of the lane allowance living in single family homes wanted it kept open. The City also received a petition from pupils at Larson Elementary school requesting the lane be kept open.
