with DeepCove rape

Arrested in Calgary

A 2\-year-old transient
has been arrested and
charged with the rape of an
ii-year-old girl in Deep
Cove at the beginning of
October.

Randoiph John Rewega
was arrested in Calgary
Wednesday and was
remanded in custody until
December 5 for a psychiatric
assessment after appearing
Thursday and Friday in
North Vancouver Provincial
Court.

Rewega is also being
questioned in connection
with two recent rapes of
young girls in Vancouver.

The spokesman said a
warrant for Rewega’s arrest
has been out since the latter
part of October when he was
identified as a result of
information received from
the public.

Because of Rewega’s
highly transient nature, the
spokesman said, this in-
formation was not publicized
for fear of alarming him.
