It was the Indians’ second 12-1) loss in the best-ofseven series, Gait had four goals and three assists. His brother Paul, an ex-Endian, had a goal and an assist. “With both Gaits, you try to contain those two but they’ve got a bunch of other players who can score too,” said Indians’ coach Rod Jensen. “Jfone of them isn’t going, the other one is.” Five Indians scored. Curt Malawsky had three and added five assists to snag first star hon- ours. Mike Mooradian also net- ted three goals. Tracey Kelusky and Derek Malawsky both had a pair. Paul Jones was the only Indian with a single. Jensen called the season “frustrating”. After an 0-7 start the team recovered to make a run to the playofts, winning its final game to carn a post-season berth. The senior B Indians, how- ever, may be destined for the national championship. The Indians knocked off the Ladner Pioneers Tuesday at Lonsdale Arena in game five of the West Coast Senior Lacrosse final series 9-6. The Indians won the series 4-1. The Indians trailed 3-2 atter the first period but took over in the middle frame with six goals. Don Mathias had North Shore’s first and last goals. Tewanee Joseph and Yul Baker also had a pair. They host Kelowna Friday and Sanurday at Lonsdale Arena for the B.C. championship. The winner plays for the President’s Cup national cham- pionship Aug. 26-30 in Burnaby.
