INSTEAD of buying .
some new place mats
this year why not
spruce up some of your
own?

With all the decorative
trimmings out in the marker
today, it’s easy to be creative!

Materials:

latex or artificial leaves and
flowers

nuts, ribbons, fabric, etc.
gluegun, glue

wire

To get started, carefully
plan out how you would like
the place mat to look.

One idea is to completely
cover the place mat with some
decorative fabric and then add
the trimmings. Or you can
simply glue the flowers direct-
ly to the place mat.

It’s nice to coordinate the
textures of Jeaves and flowers
with your place mats.

For example, if your mat is
made of rattan or wicker, use
very natural decorations such
as nuts and artificial leaves.

Put your dinner plate on
the place mat and plan out
how you would like the flow-
ers to look around the plate.

the look, glue the flowers onto

A couple of things to keep
in mind: keep the decorative
trimmings fairly small so as to
not interfere with the placing
of the cutlery and plates; store
the mats in a separate space
away from tight drawers that
