Mexicali Meat Pie Pastry for a one-crust pie 1 tb. ground beef Y cup chopped onion % cup chopped green pepper 1 tin Niblets corn, drained 1 teaspoon dried mixed Italian herbs 2 teaspoon chili powder 8-02. tin tomato sauce salt and pepper Topping: I ege Y cup milk V2 teaspoon dry mustard dash Worcestershire sauce 1-4 cups grated Cheddar cheese 1 cup sliced green stuffed olives — to garnish Roll out pastry and cover the bottom and sides of a nine-inch layer cake tin or extra deep pie plate. Cook beef with onion and green pepper until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Stir in corn, seasonings and tomato sauce. Turn into pastry shell. Bake ai 425°F, 25 minutes. Combine topping ingredients and spread over meat. Garnish with sliced olives, : Bake five minutes more until topping is set, Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Makes six generous wedges. It may sound a little odd, but baked beans go well with this as does a tomato and onion salad. I’ve got to confess — this is one leftover I can’t resist — just like some people thrive on cold pizza for breakfast [’l sneak bites of this right out of the fridge!
