The trouble with Australia
is it’s so damn big. Just as a
visitor to Canada or the U.S.
won't see it all in a few
weeks, neither will a visitor to
Australia. -.

Rather than trying to
spread yourself thinly over a
big chunk of the country, do
your homework and settle for
places you can’t bear to miss.

Outside the main cities, the
two obvious stops are Ayers
Rock and The Great Barrier
Reef. Since there’s a mile or
so of territory separating the
two, you may have to make a
choice. :

marvellous. You haven't liv-
ed until you've tried the
seafood. In food stores the
quality and variety is what
you'd expect from a country
famous for meats and
boasting a climate ranging
from temperate to tropical,
I'd love to see prices like
theirs in supermarkets here.

That doesn’t mean that
restaurant meals. are cheap -
top line places charge the
earth! Servings are huge and
the average Anssie diner
works his way right through
the menu from appetizer,
soup, entree, main‘ course
and dessert.

grog - restaurants. Just like it
says, you’ brown-bag your
wine or spirits and they serve
it for you. Both legal and
