Srivastava, Chairman of the Capilano College Council, has an- nounced the appointment of Dr. Frank Gélin to the position of Dean of Academic Studies for the college. The move is part of the administ- ration reorganization plan which sees Dr. Dougias K. Jardine, formerly Dean of Academic Studies & Educa- tional Support Services, move into a new post, Dean . Gelin comes to Cap College from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, where has has been Dean of Arts and Sciences for the last 3% years. He-was born and raised in Vancouver; obtain- ed his B.A. in psychology, his M.A.-from Stanford and his PH. D. from the University of Alberta. He has’ taught psychology both at SFU and CNC. He has been very active in Faculty affairs, acting as president of the Faculty Association at New Caledonia, and later negot- iating for the admimistration. Dr. Frank Gelte, Dean of -Academic Susdies With a background in Educational Psychology & Communications as well as psychology and administra- tron, he comes to his new post with high credentials. Gelin, at age 33, seems to show his management styltc right from the start: “During my first six months here I am going to spend a fot of time fcarning what is donc, how it’s being donc, what the staff and public would like to sec happen. Dr. Jardine, popular as Dean of Academic Studies at Cap from 1972 to 1976, acting Principal from 1976 to 1977 and Dean of, Academic Studies and Educational Sup- port Services for the last year and a half, wifl take on expanded college-wide authority under the new plan.
