BUSINESS PROGRAM VANCOUVER COMMUNITY College (VCC), along with the ministry responsible for women's programs, will sponsor a weekend conference Jan. 26-27 called *‘*Batancing Family and Business’"’ aimed at working women who need to find time for both their careers and families. It’s a problem familiar to all women who want to raise a healthy family and pursue an ex- citing career. For many women, the solution is to work from their homes while their children are small. But to do that successfully, argues VCC small business development officer Joy Davies, means keeping ex- citing skills alive, learning new ones and networking successfully. The conference, which will be held at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Stanley Park, will offer more than 25 innovative workshops led by experienced community facilitators. Topics will range from ‘The Care and Feeding of Your Banker’ to ‘Feeling the Fear and Doing It Anyway.” The workshops will stress prac- tical information which will be of immediate and lasting benefit to participants. “If you are planning to run a small business from your home or working as a consultant, you need to learn new skills, build on the ones you already have and net- work. That's what this conference is all about,”’ said Davies. For more information, call Davies at pager number 645-0452.
